WVO is nothing but waste vegetable oil, which is now gaining popularity as a bio diesel. But before you get the oil, you have waste vegetable, which has to go through a cleaning process before the usable in containers. First of all since it is rotting vegetables, remember the stink is sky high. If you think a simple redline pump to pump the waste and a banjo meshed tee filter will do the trick then think again. It will work for a few minutes and then, you will be covered up to your elbows in rancid, stinking grease. The best method is to let WVO sit for a few weeks. The contaminants, which contain solid particles, water and creamy fat, will slowly settle at the bottom. A few bits will float at the top, which can be easily removed. Without disturbing the bottom, draw off the top and transfer to another container using a 10-2 micron sock-like filter. The quickest method to accelerate WVO process is by heating. Whether it is cold wvo centrifuge or solid waste, using hot oil pumps will clear filters fast and quickly drops contaminates. Next use bag filters to clean the dirty oil. These are some basic steps to clean WVO.
